The local Whole Foods in Charlottesville, VA choose to give 5% of their daily profits to Common Ground Healing Arts, a local health and wellness nonprofit.
Common Ground Healing Arts is going to use the donated money to fund a mobile acupuncture clinic. The group does a great deal of sliding-scale community work including treating those at the Fluvanna Women's Correctional Facility.
The Team Leader at Whole Foods, Kristen Rabourdin said, "One of the great things about Common Ground is that it's accessible to everyone... so if someone may not think they can afford all of these wellness programs that they offer, they actually can."
It is so wonderful to see a Whole Foods supporting acupuncture in such a direct way.
