I am excited to have started my yoga teacher training program. It was super, challenging and a whole lot of fun!
I am training to do a form of yoga called, "Yin Yoga". This style of yoga is slower and more gentle than many yoga styles. Each pose is held from three to five minutes. This allows the body to relax, open, and for the mind to be still. The pace is ideal for nurturing the body towards health and alignment.
My instructor for the program is Heidi Beachley. Heidi has been studying many yoga styles for over a decade throughout the world. She is a wealth of knowledge and truly amazing spirit.
The final part of the training this weekend was me "teaching" a mock class to another student for an hour. Despite the fact I teach three-hour acupuncture classes multiple times every week, this was really challenging! To suddenly have to incorporate all of this new material into a class was difficult and yet, still very fun.
Challenging or not, I am very excited to continue this program and skills and knowledge. I have another full week of training coming up. More news soon!
