Mark Bertolini is the CEO of the third-largest health insurer in the United States, Aetna insurance. Recently the Financial Times ran a profile on Mr. Bertolini describing the personal story leading him to be viewed as a maverick among those in charge of insurance companies.
When his son was ill with a rare cancer Mr. Bertolini found that a hospital staff would view his son, "...as a disease, not a person.” This type of insight has given him insight into moving his company forward.
I found it very interesting to read the type of treatment Mr. Bertolini used after a serious skiing accident, craniosacral therapy! The author of article described it this way,
"Three sessions in, he says he started to feel better; three months later he stopped taking painkillers."
Craniosacral therapy is strong, powerful work. It is great to see it reaching and helping Mark Bertolini.
