I am Teaching an Anatomy Lab for Yoga Teachers and Students

Albert Stern

I will be teaching a cadaver-based anatomy lab for yoga teachers (and students) this May.

For the last year, I have been collaborating with Bev Boyer of Colorado Learning Center of Human Anatomy teaching cadaver classes for acupuncturists. After doing the yoga teacher training earlier this year we thought it would great to offer a similar class for yoga teachers.

X-Ray Yoga

I completed my second week of yoga training Sunday! I have yoga on the brain and found this amazing video!  Hybrid Medical Animation is a high-end medical and scientific 3D animation studio. The produce still images, videos, and VR projects. They have a stunning gallery of work. In the video below, Hybrid Medical took a 3-D skeleton through a short yoga routine. The result is beautiful!

I Will Be Training to Teach (Gentle) Yoga!

Albert Stern

Next month, I will be training to teach a gentle form of yoga!

For years, I have been having this funny experience. I often suggest to my bodywork clients to try yoga. But as I make this suggestion I add...

"But I want to talk to the teacher first.

And...actually, I want to go take the class with you.

That way we can adjust poses specifically to your body."

Clearly, it would be easier for me to simply teach the class!

So, next month I will be training to teach a very gentle form of yoga called, "Yin Yoga". It is a style of yoga that is easily adaptable to any body regardless of body type, flexibility or previous yoga experience. (Which is great because, truthfully, I am not all that stretchy.)

I will be studying with Heidi Beachley. Heidi teaches in Boulder and runs workshops in India and Panama.

When I am done with this training I will be able to run small yoga classes for my clients or anyone else interested.

I will share my experience in blog posts when the training beings on February 19th.

I am completely excited!
