Upledger Craniosacral

Albert Stern offers acupuncture, visceral manipulation, and craniosacral therapy in northwest Denver, Wheatridge and Boulder. He has studied craniosacral therapy through the Upledger Institute. Craniosacral therapy is often used for body pain, headaches, digestion, anxiety, depression, and insomnia. Craniosacral therapy is a light touch, hands on technique.

In all healing traditions the spine and brain are absolutely essential. Disciplines as varied as yoga, tai-chi, chiropractic, osteopathy, pilates, and rolfing all place enormous value on keeping the brain and spine communicating within the entire body. The easier the brain and body communicate - the easier it is for the body to remain dynamic and healthy.

A fluid rich in minerals and protein is produced deep in skull and circulated through the brain, spine, and tailbone (aka the sacrum). The unrestricted flow of this fluid provides stability and removes toxins from the brain. The healthier the spine and brain - the greater harmony the body has to live fully.

The movement of this cerebral spinal fluid creates a gentle rhythm within the body. Craniosacral therapy works to ensure the smooth flow of fluid to all aspects of the brain and spine. Gentle pressure is used to unlock and establish optimal flow throughout the body.

Craniosacral is simply thrilling for me. Years ago I began to feel this spinal rhythm accidentally while I did other bodywork. I noticed how the pattern of movement would shift and expand as I worked. When I found the rich body of work described by John Upledger's Craniosacral therapy it was a revelation. Today, it is joy to offer work with my clients in a way that allows this deep and important shift to take place.
